
Alert: Fake Ads Triple on the Internet as Black Friday Approaches
During Black Friday, a critical period for commerce, the number of digital scams skyrockets, and we at Branddi were invited to share our expertise in an interview featuring one of our partners, aired on one of Brazil’s most prestigious news programs.
Scammers innovate every year, using strategies such as misleading ads, fraudulent landing pages, and fake profiles to target consumers and major brands. Our work has identified an alarming volume of threats that directly affect the largest companies in the Brazilian market.
Gustavo Mariotto, Branddi’s CSO and digital protection specialist, explains:
“Criminals lure consumers with irresistible offers on social media. When they click, they are directed to fake websites identical to the originals, where they end up providing personal and financial data.”
He also emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring to protect brands:
“It is essential that companies quickly identify and combat fraudulent sites and profiles. Working in partnership with platforms to remove these threats is a priority.”
